Carson-Newman kicker lands on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman kicker Curt Duncan (Morristown, Tenn.) has earned himself a spot on the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District Team for is efforts on the field and in the classroom.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman kicker Curt Duncan (Morristown, Tenn.) has earned himself a spot on the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District Team for is efforts on the field and in the classroom.
Duncan is an English major and has carried a 3.60 GPA into his junior year.
The Morristown, Tenn.-native has blasted nine of his 10 field goal attempts through the uprights, two of those from beyond 50 yards.
Duncan set a school record with his 54-yard field goal against Tusculum; his 50-yarder against Lenoir-Rhyne was the first 50-yard field goal by an Eagle kicker since 1994.
His four field goal day against the Bears was the first time an Eagle kicker had hit that many in a game since 1983.
Duncan is a perfect 48-48 on extra points.
Carson-Newman and its kicker take to the field for senior day Saturday against Mars Hill at 1 p.m. with a playoff berth on the line.
