Carson-Newman’s Bridgewater Named SAC Pitcher of the Week

Bridgewater has been named the South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of
the Week honors for the week ending March 1, announced conference
officials Tuesday.
Bridgewater, a junior from Morristown, Tenn. (Walters State C.C.),
set the tone for the Eagles sweep of Newberry last weekend. The
junior fired a complete-game five hitter, surrenduring only one
unearned run, in the Eagles series-opening win over visiting NC,
9-1.
Bridgewater struck out five, while walking three, to improve to
2-0 on the season. He wins the Pitcher of the Week honor for the
second time this season.
C-N improved to 4-2 in SAC play with the series sweep.
Wingate outfielder Nick Siega-Riz earned SAC Player of the Week
honors.
