JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The first game of the Orange and Blue World Series will begin on Sunday, Oct. 25. The five-game series will crown two winners.
The winner of the best of five series will win a dinner at a local restaurant. The loser of the total amount of runs scored in the five games will be responsible for several painting projects at the baseball complex.
Games one, three and five will be played with American League rules, while games two and four will be played with National League rules.
The Blue Knighthawks, led by Greg Rogers, will send senior Wes McIntyre (Chattanooga, Tenn.) to the mound.
"I feel good about our leaders on all parts of the field," Rogers said. "I believe it is better to have a complete lineup rather than just have a few big bats. I know our pitching will have dominating stuff and we will have competitors on the mound every game."
D.J. Ferguson (Jupiter, Fla.) will take the mound for the Orange Jack O' Lanterns.
"Scoring runs will not be a problem," Knighthawks coach Matt Ward said. "I like our veteran players and our mentality."
Game time on Sunday is 2 p.m. Games two through five will be be played Monday-Thursday.
