Catawba Volleyball Downs Carson-Newman, 3-0, Saturday At Holt Fieldhouse
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Catawba College Volleyball Team (11-7, 4-4 SAC) defeated Carson-Newman College (11-7, 5-3 SAC) by a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-15) score in South Atlantic Conference action Saturday morning at Holt Fieldhouse.

(11-7, 4-4 SAC) defeated Carson-Newman College (11-7, 5-3 SAC) by a
3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-15) score in South Atlantic Conference action
Saturday morning at Holt Fieldhouse.
The Lady Indians hit .257 (42-16-101) compared to the Lady Eagles'
.168 (38-20-107) mark for the match. Kaitlyn Whitmer (Ferrum, Va.)
led all players with 15 kills while Shay Meeks (Kings Mountain,
N.C.) tallied 13 of her own.
Megan Courson (Statesville, N.C.) dished out a match-high 34
assists while Alli Parrish (Zebulon, N.C.) led Catawba with 13
digs.
Carson-Newman was paced offensively by freshman middle Jasmine
Clark (Pelham, Ala.) with 13 kills and a .286 (13-5-28) hitting
percentage while senior middle Katie Troyer (Plain City, Ohio)
added nine kills as well.
Senior setter Stephanie Cutter (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) dished out 26
assists and freshman libero Angelle Hayes (Brentwood, Tenn.) had 14
digs to lead the Lady Eagles.
Carson-Newman will complete its three-match homestand Tuesday
evening when it hosts Lincoln Memorial University in SAC play at
6:30 p.m.
