INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Carson-Newman (26-16, 13-9 SAC) is listed under consideration in the latest NCAA DII regional rankings.
The Eagles are joined by five South Atlantic Conference schools under consideration, as Emory & Henry, Lincoln Memorial, Tusculum, Wingate, and Lenoir-Rhyne are considered for a spot in the postseason.
The Eagles own a 4-0 record over Lincoln Memorial and Tusculum and have an opportunity on the horizon, squaring off with Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday.
Carson-Newman enters its final regular-season twin bill ranked No. 14 in the region in RPI according to Inkblot Sports, holding a 10-9 record against teams with a winning record.
The Eagles are playing for a potential hosting spot in the SAC tournament, currently tied for third and holding the tiebreaker over No. 3 Lincoln Memorial and No. 4 Tusculum.
If it were to host the opening round of the SAC tournament, Carson-Newman would play at home on April 25th-27th. If the Eagles are selected for the postseason, they would compete in the Southeast regional on May 8th-10th.
The Eagles will look to cement a hosting spot for the opening round of the SAC tournament and strengthen their case for an NCAA regional bid on Friday at Lenoir-Rhyne in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. in Hickory, North Carolina.
