C-N secured the #9 seed entering this weekend and will face a well-known opponent in #16 Erskine for their first matchup, scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m.
"We're playing Erskine for the fifth time this year, and we kind of know what to expect from them," said head coach Cat Collins. "When you play so many times, it can be easy to lose focus. So, we need to make sure that we take care of our own game before facing them again."
Following the match against the Flying Fleet, the team will turn its attention to a new opponent, the #4 Colorado Mesa Mavericks. The Mavericks, members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), finished the regular season with an overall record of 18-9. This will be the second-ever matchup between these two programs, with the first coming in 2021 when the Mavericks edged past the Eagles 3-2. The Eagles matchup with the Mavericks will begin at 2:30 p.m.
"They won the AVCA Tournament a couple of years ago and are usually in the Final Four every year," Collins said. "We need to watch film and prepare for them defensively. They're definitely a beatable team for us, and there are a few teams from our conference that play them a lot, so we've gotten a feel for what that team will bring."
