JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Men's Tennis gets two athletes honored by South Atlantic Conference in postseason all-conference honors.
Marnix Van Dalen (Netherlands) and Payk Gayk (Germany) are used to being together as the typical No. 2 doubles pairing on the court, but they remain together being honored by the South Atlantic Conference in its all-conference postseason selections.
Van Dalen was honored as an All-SAC Second Team selection for both singles and doubles, while Gayk was honored as an All-SAC Second Team for doubles alongside Van Dalen as his partner.
Van Dalen has gone 8-3 in singles play this season with a 15-5 mark in doubles play while Gayk has collected a record of 15-6 in doubles, playing just one match without Van Dalen by his side during the doubles point.
The duo helped Carson-Newman to a 10-7 record and a 7-5 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. The finish helped the Eagles to the six seed at the SAC Men's Tennis Tournament where it will face Lincoln Memorial in the quarterfinals.
The SAC Men's Tennis Tournament begins on Wednesday, April 16 at 2 p.m. at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C. All matches will have an audio stream available at RadioTennis.com.
