Lady Eagles handle Maryville in four sets, 3-1
MARYVILLE, TENN. – The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles surrendered a tight second set, but controlled the other three to beat Maryville College on the road in non-conference play on Thursday night, 3-1. C-N won by a score of 25-13, 23-25, 25-19, and 25-18, to improve to 15-12 overall.

Senior Carly Swisher continued her recent tear, pounded out 14 kills and hitting .364 for the match to lead the Lady Eagles.
Freshmen Lauren Santarelli and Rachel Harper each pushed double figures in kills for the Lady Eagles' offense. Santarelli had nine kills and Harper added seven.
Freshman Kristen Pickett had 41 assists for the Lady Eagles, a four-set match high this season. She also had a team-high 12 digs.
National blocks leader Nikki James added six blocks to lead the C-N defense.
C-N committed 10 attack errors in the second set to help Maryville to a 25-23 win. It committed only six in the other three sets combined which proved to be too much for the home-standing Scots.
The Lady Eagles return o action on Nov. 1 at Mars Hill College.
