ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman's Nikki James has been named to the 2011 Daktronics NCAA Division II Southeast Region Volleyball team. James was the nation's leading blocker for much of the second straight season. She is averaging 1.61 blocks per set, which is second in Division II (by .01). She has 69 block solos and 111 block assists on the year.

HARROGATE, Tenn. — Six points was all it took to steal away No. 8-seeded Carson-Newman College’s storybook ending. After trailing 2-0, the Lady Eagles volleyball team did what no team has been able to do this season, force the Wingate Lady Bulldogs into a fifth and deciding set. In the end, the breaks went top-seeded Wingate’s way and they held on to a 3-2 victory in the opening round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament.
