Mozgai, James Garner Preseason All-SAC Volleyball Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Two Lady Eagles have been named to the 2010 preseason All-South Atlantic Conference volleyball team, league officials announced Tuesday.
Senior outside hitter Carly Mozgai (Greensboro, N.C.) was selected to the first team, while junior Nikki James (Cookeville, Tenn.) received second team honors.
Mozgai, a second team All-SAC performer in 2009, was among the conference leaders in hitting percentage (.258) last season. She averaged 2.68 kills per set and finished the year with 204 kills despite missing the first 13 matches with an injury.
James was one of the top blockers in the conference last season as she finished the year with 122 (24 solo, 98 assists) for an average of 1.13 blocks per set. She also ranked near the top of the SAC in hitting percentage (.271) and finished the year with 194 kills.
C-N completed the 2009 season with a 23-10 record and a 12-4 mark in the South Atlantic Conference to finish second for the second straight year. The Lady Eagles advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament and won the first playoff game in school history, 3-2, over Catawba.
