ROCK HILL, S.C. — Carson-Newman sophomore forward Courdne Miles (Burlington, N.C.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.
Miles guided the Lady Eagles to a 2-0 record on the week by averaging a double-double with 16 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest while coming off the bench. She was also a perfect 14-of-14 from the floor on the week.
Miles tossed in 13 points and pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds to lead C-N to an 82-71 victory over Lincoln Memorial. She also had four steals in the contest. Miles closed out the week with a team-high 19 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in a 70-56 win over Catawba.
Miles is averaging 7.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Lady Eagles this season.
C-N returns to action on Wednesday at home against Brevard. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at Holt Fieldhouse.
