Carson-Newman Dance teams take two top 10 finishes at nationals
ORLANDO - Carson-Newman's dance team brought home two top 10 finishes at the College Classics Dance Team Union National Championship over the weekend at the Orlando Convention Center.
ORLANDO - Carson-Newman's dance team brought home two top 10 finishes at the College Classics Dance Team Union National Championship over the weekend at the Orlando Convention Center.
Carson-Newman finished eighth in the jazz category with a score of 86.04. C-N finished 10th in pom, a gameday performance category, with a score of 82.42. Saginaw Valley State took home the national title in pom with an 89.04, while Grand Valley State finished first in jazz with a 94.88.
Carson-Newman was the highest-scoring team from the Southeast Region in both categories. Carson-Newman edged its next closest regional foe, Lander, in both categories.
This was the first time the dance team competed at the CCDTUNC in school history.
