NORMAN, Okla. – For the first time since February 2020, Carson-Newman is back in the Bushnell Golf Week Coaches Poll, making its debut at No. 22 on Friday.
The Eagles have been receiving votes in the poll since the preseason list was released back in mid-February.
Randy Wylie's group is now in the top 25 of two polls after moving up to No. 23 in the latest edition of the Golfstat rankings that were released on Tuesday.
This movement into the Golf Coaches Association of America poll comes after Carson-Newman finished fourth at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate a little more than a week ago. It was 16 shots better than a Findlay squad that was then ranked No. 7 by Golfstat and No. 10 by the GCAA.
Through three events, the Orange and Blue have garnered two top-5 finishes.
C-N is one of four South Atlantic Conference teams in the poll, joined by No. 5 Lincoln Memorial, No. 24 Newberry and No. 25 Anderson.
The Eagles are back in action on Monday for the Tennessee River Rumble, hosted by Lincoln Memorial. That two-day, 54-hole event will take place at the WindRiver Golf Club in Lenoir City, Tenn.
