Pitchers duel sees Orange take 2-1 series lead
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – On the backs of stellar outings from Tyler Shaver and Hunter Harritan, the Orange team has taken a two games to one series lead in the 2021 Orange-Blue World Series.

A leadoff single from Jordan Griffin would get the action started for the Blue team in the top of the first as he would eventually come around to score thanks to a few miscues and a fielder's choice. The bottom of the first would see the Orange team come right back with a run of their own, as Henry Jackson led off with a single.
After each team would plate a run in the first, both pitchers would settle in and take center stage. Matt Coles for the Blue team would go 5.2 innings, surrendering only four hits and three runs. Coles fanned six and issued four walks.
On the other side, Tyler Shaver would go four full innings and only give up one hit and one run. Shaver finished his day with six strikeouts and three walks. After his four innings of work, Shaver would make way for Hunter Harritan. Harritan would match Shavers total strikeout count in just three innings with six. Harritan's scoreless relief outing would only see him issue one hit and two talks.
The Orange team would tack on two more in the late going thanks to some passed balls and sacrifice bunts, making the score 3-1 headed to the final frame.
The top of the seventh started with a leadoff walk to Bryce Henley, who would eventually be tagged out trying to score on a double into left by Ben Wilcoxon. Harritan slam the door on a potential Blue rally by inducing a Zach Boze pop fly to end the game, giving the Orange squad a 2-1 series lead headed into the final day.
The Orange team has a 15-11 advantage on the scoreboard and has a chance to clinch the 2021 Orange-Blue World Series tomorrow afternoon in game four at 3:15 pm. All the action can be listned to live at cneagles.com/live.
