Jenna Pittman named Third Team All-SAC
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman Sophomore cross country runner Jenna Pittman earns Third Team All-SAC honors following the South Atlantic Conference meet this past Saturday.

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman Sophomore cross country runner Jenna Pittman earns Third Team All-SAC honors following the South Atlantic Conference meet this past Saturday.
"I am super grateful to be on this list," said Pittman. "It has truly been a grind all season to get to this point. Every race I have learned how I want to change my racing strategy and it felt really good to receive those honors."
Pittman secured Third Team All-SAC honors following the race at the SAC Championship race on Saturday, Oct. 26 where she earned 16th overall in the women's 6K race in a time of 22:30.6.
Throughout the 5-meet regular season, Pittman secured one first place finish and two personal best times on the season. The first place finish came at the Nooga At Night 5K race where Pittman finished with a time of 17:29.7. She also came in second place in the season opener 4K race in a time of 15:59.4.
"The team emphasizes grit and staying with the pack," Pittman said. "I feel like that is something that I focus on in races to come because we will see many of the same teams that we saw at conference."
Eagles head Cross Country Coach Brent Borden is proud of the work that Pittman has put in and attributes that to receiving All-SAC honors.
"Jenna is a competitor," said Borden. "It doesn't matter what the day is. Rain or shine, whether she's feeling good or not she's going to give it her all. She's always ready to go and kick it up a notch. Jenna even runs with the boys in some of the workouts and even keeps up with them. She has that winner mentality as well and that is what we look for and I think it will continue to serve her well going forward."
Jenna Pittman and the Eagles get a week of rest before taking the course in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championships on Nov. 9th at the Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C. beginning at 10:00 a.m.
