Robertson's Rundown: September 14, 2015
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? CNVB! This week, C-N volleyball took its first home game preparation to the next level. According to tradition, all freshman/transfers must dress up crazy to school the day of the first home game. I don’t know which was worse, people looking at us and laughing or people looking at us like it was totally normal and an outfit we would wear every day. From camo princesses representing that the competition “wouldn’t even see us coming”, to the entire SpongeBob crew inviting everyone to come watch us “rock” our competition. Get it, cause Patrick lives under a rock. We informed everyone we would share our super secret Krabby Patty recipe if they came, I think some were honestly disappointed that it was a joke.

On Friday, Lenoir Rhyne was the first fallen tribute in the "Holt Fieldhouse" arena. The "Mossy Creek Maniacs" of the capitol gathered around to witness round one of the games. With about a thousand of them all gathered around the arena ready to cheer us on, the Eagles came out ready to terminate their first opponent. We did just that, giving those maniacs just what they came to see, a 3-0 sweep to start of round one of the games.
The next day, the Lady Eagles went on a victory tour before round 2 of the games. We traveled to Burke-Tarr Stadium for a little celebratory tailgatin' and then to the football game to support our fellow football alliances. It was great to have all of our family and friends join u at the tailgate. A huge thank you to Tammy Wells for organizing the tailgate! After a fun morning of corn hole, good food, and a big win for the C-N Football boys, we got ready to lace up for round 2 of the CNVB Hunger Games. The next chosen tribute was Brevard, who also had to enter into the "Holt Fieldhouse" arena for battle. The maniacs came back out to support, ready for another 3-0 sweep to our opponents. We gave our supporters just what they asked for, with another sweep to start off the season. The energy on and off the court in the arena was like nothing I've ever experienced. We were ruthless out there, not letting up one point in either game. By starting off the series of games with 2 sweeps in our home arena, I would vouch to say the next chosen tributes having to face us this week are anxious to see what us Lady Eagles are all about. The CNVB girls will travel to North Carolina this weekend to face their first round of games in another arena. We are hoping to give our Mossy Creek Maniacs a report of victory when we return!!
