Bio

2025: The star third baseman continued on her dominant tear with an outstanding junior year, starting in all 48 games. Bailey hit .447 on the year with a .506 on-base percentage and .893 slugging, all career-best marks. Additionally, the Cross Plains, Tennessee native had career-highs with 67 hits, 13 doubles and 18 home runs, adding to her previous record as the only player in the program with three straight seasons with 15 or more home runs. She also drove in 62 runs, becoming the first player in school history with three consecutive seasons with 60 or more RBIs. She worked 22 walks compared to 16 strikeouts. Bailey etched her name into the record books as she now holds the most career home runs all-time with 48, passing Sara Kelley's mark on 35, she launched her record-setting blast on Mar. 1 against Southern Wesleyan. Her 190 runs batted in are also the most in program history after she passed Whitney Hickam's 185 RBIs with a pair against Tusculum (Apr. 25) in the opening round of the SAC Tournament. Bailey's 18 home runs were the second most in a season in school history, just trailing Brittany Hefner's 19 blasts from 2013. She is also tied for sixth for the single-season mark for most runs batted in. Bailey roped three doubles against Davis & Elkins (Feb. 21), tying the C-N record for the most in a single game. The third basemen set a new career-high with nine total bases against UVA-Wise (Mar. 29), going 3-for-3, driving in 5 runs with two home runs. She closed out the year with 21 multi-hit games, a new single-season high for her, along with 16 multi-RBI games.

  • CSC First Team Academic All-American
  • Preseason Second Team All-SAC

2024: Bailey earned a second straight All-SAC honor after receiving recognition as a first-team designated player last year.  Bailey replicated her numbers from her freshman All-America campaign.  Bailey is the only player in school history to hit 15 home runs in consecutive seasons. She is also only the second player in school history to drive in 60 or more runs in consecutive seasons. She hit .387 with 10 doubles and the 15 home runs.  Her 61 runs batted in led the South Atlantic Conference.  She had 18 multi-RBI efforts this year, including a six-RBI day against Milligan to match a career high.  She has driven in at least four runs in six games this year.  Bailey also matched a career high with a four-hit day against Milligan.

HONORS:

  • All-SAC Second Team Catcher
  • CSC Academic All-District
  • SAC Player of the Week (4/16)
  • Tucci/NFCA Player of the Year Watch List

2023: Both the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association have bestowed Bailey with All-America status, making the freshman designated player a consensus All-American.  She garnered first-team accolades from the NFCA and a spot on the second team from the D2CCA.  Bailey and Anderson first baseman Kayson Boatner are the only two consensus All-Americans from the SAC this year. Catawba's Riley Tucker was recognized by the NFCA, while Talon LaClair of Lenoir-Rhyne was named to the third team by the D2CCA.  The Cross Plains, Tenn.-native becomes Carson-Newman's first-ever All-American designated player, its fourth freshman All-American and its 22nd overall.  Bailey joins Abby Fiessinger (2017), Lacie Rinus (2017) and Bri Shoemake (2010) as the only freshmen to garner All-America status.  However, of the quartet, Bailey is the only one with a first-team honor.  The honors follow an already productive postseason for Bailey where she has been named TUCCI/NFCA Division II National Freshman of the Year, All-Region first team by both the NFCA and D2CCA, SAC All-Tournament, first-team All-SAC, SAC Player of the Year and SAC Freshman of the Year.  Created in 2015, this is Carson-Newman's first time with a finalist for the award let alone a winner. Bailey is the first player from the Southeast Region to win the award.  Bailey beat out West Chester's Danielle Ciliberto (Atlantic), Central Oklahoma's Emily Deramus (Central), Bridgeport's Mya Jones (East), McKendree's Lauren Harris (Midwest), UAH's Katie Bracken (South), West Texas A&M's Emilee Boyer (South Central) and Biola's Colby McClinton (West) for the award. Bailey is the first C-N freshman to earn all-region laurels since Lacie Rinus and Abby Fiessinger both did so in 2017.  Bailey is the first player in South Atlantic Conference history to take home both Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year in the same season.  Bailey becomes Carson-Newman's 19th SAC Player of the Year and sixth Freshman of the Year.  While Bailey is the first Eagle to take home Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year in the same season, former C-N All-American Lacie Rinus brought home Freshman of the Year and Pitcher of the Year honors in 2017. Rinus also went on to be named SAC tournament MVP that season. The Cross Plains, Tenn.-native is Carson-Newman's first Freshman of the Year honoree since Rinus won in 2017. She is the first Player of the Year since Rinus picked up that plaudit in 2018.  Carson-Newman's 19 Player of the Year honorees are the most in the league. Bailey has consistently been in the top five nationally throughout the season in RBI.  She finished with 67, which is sixth in the nation both overall and but first in terms of games played.  She was eight RBI away from matching Carson-Newman's Brittany Hefner and her single-season SAC and school record of 75. She drove in a run in 21 of her last 29 games and had 17 games this year where she drove in multiple runs.  Her 67 RBI are good for the fourth-most in a single season in school history, and two away from third place and Hall of Famer Whitney Hickam (2008). Bailey has set a litany of freshman records.  She had the most RBI of any freshman in school history, as well as the most home runs (15), longest hitting streak (18) and the highest slugging percentage (.818). Her home runs are good for the second-highest single-season total in school history overall, while the hitting streak is tied for fourth and the slugging percentage sits in seventh. From March 1 through April 11, Bailey hit successfully in 18 straight games.  In that span she drove in a run in all but two games, collecting 32 RBI overall in that stretch. Bailey was named SAC and TSWA Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks on March 12 and 19. In the SAC tournament, she garnred all-tournament honors.  Bailey hit .412 for the event with seven hits in 17 trips to the plate.  Four of her seven knocks were for extra bases.  She slugged three home runs and also tallied a double while driving in nine runs, six of which came in the opening game against Newberry.  Two of Bailey's blats came in the first game against Newberry, one of which was an eighth-inning grand slam that pushed C-N to an 11-5 win.
