Lady Eagles Finish 7th in Program's First Tournament

NEW LONDON, N.C. -- The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles turned in a one-day 327 (+39) to finish in a tie for seventh at the rain-shortened Falcon Invitational in New London, N.C. earlier this week.
The tournament, the first in C-N women's golf history, saw its second day cut by rain, leaving the Day 1 scores final.
Sophomore Caitlin Fortner (Greenville, Tenn.) led C-N with a 76 (+4). Transfer and hometown-product Sara Jane Sinard (Jefferson City, Tenn.) turned in 79 (+7).
Knoxville-area freshmen Erica Ray (Maryville, Tenn./William Blount) and Jennifer Oliver (Knoxville, Tenn./Central) fired an 86 and 87 respectively.
Sophomore Leah Hagedorn (Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.), a Tennessee-transfer, turned in C-N's fifth score with a 93.
The Lady Eagles return to action in the Queens University of Charlotte Invitational played at the storied TPC at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. this weekend.
