Lady Eagles remain 25th in WBCA poll
For the 11th consecutive week, Carson-Newman (14-4, 11-3 SAC) is recognized as a ranked team. The Lady Eagles stayed put at No. 25 in the latest Women’s Basketball Coaches Association poll and are receiving votes in the media poll that was released on Tuesday afternoon.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – For the 11th consecutive week, Carson-Newman (14-4, 11-3 SAC) is recognized as a ranked team. The Lady Eagles stayed put at No. 25 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association poll and are receiving votes in the media poll that was released on Tuesday afternoon.
Carson-Newman is the only Southeast region team to be ranked for all 11 weeks in either the coaches or media poll. C-N has been ranked in every single WBCA poll this season.
In coach Mike Mincey's tenure, the program has now been ranked for 55 weeks, holding a 69-25 record when playing as a top 25 club.
Carson-Newman is one of four teams in the Southeast region ranked by the WBCA. North Georgia is the highest ranked team in the region at No. 7. Coker is the highest ranked team from the South Atlantic Conference, moving up two spots to 14. Belmont Abbey is the only ranked school from the Conference Carolinas, checking in at No. 21.
Conference Carolinas schools Chowan and UNC Pembroke are the only schools, in the region, receiving votes from the coaches.
Three Southeast regions teams are ranked by the media. North Georgia is the highest at No. 10, with Coker and 15 and Belmont Abbey at 21. C-N is the only team receiving votes.
