Wykle tabbed SAC Player of the Week

This is the first award for the junior of the year with her last coming on Feb. 15, 2021. It is the third weekly laurel for the Lady Eagles this season with Lindsey Taylor (Maryville, Tenn.) taking home a pair to tie the league lead with Wingate's trio of awards.
The Greeneville, Tenn. native played a total of 72 minutes posting 24 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 46 percent from the floor going 16-for-35 from the field.
In an 86-58 win in the first game of the second semester, the All-American reset her career high with 36 points in 35 minutes going 12-for-21 from the field, 5-for-9 from long range and 7-for-8 at the charity stripe. The scoring outburst was the eighth-most points scored by a Division II player this year and second-most by a SAC player. She added a career-high five steals chipping in five rebounds and three assists.
To put a bow on the week, the guard helped the Lady Eagles overcome an 11-point second half deficit to win at Anderson 67-64 on Saturday. The reigning SAC Player of the Year tallied a dozen points with six rebound, two assists and two steals.
Overall for the season, Wykle has scored in double figures in every game this year with eight games of at least 20 points and the 30-point outing on Wednesday leading the team in scoring in 11 of the 14 contests. She continues to shoot up the scoring list ranking 17th on the program's ledger with 1,216 points needing 111 points to move into the top 10.
In the national rankings, the junior ranks 17th in the country with 19.9 points per game, 15th in made field goals with 95, 32nd in three-pointers with 33 and 41st in assist-to-turnover ratio with a 1.87 margin.
Wykle leads the Lady Eagles into a conference road matchup against No. 17 Catawba on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. from Goodman Gym. Air time on the Eagle Sports Network is 5:15 p.m. with "The AEC Countdown to Tip-Off" on Mountain Sports 106.3 (WPFT-FM, Sevierville) and cneagles.com/live.
