ROCK HILL, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference announced its all-conference honors Thursday afternoon, with Carson-Newman having three of its players be recognized.
Carson-Newman (2-9-3, 2-6-1 SAC) reset season-highs in shots and shots on goal, but was shutout by fifth-ranked Anderson (9-1-4, 6-1-2 SAC) on Saturday night at McCown Field.
For the second straight season, Carson-Newman (2-8-3, 2-5-1 SAC) will play as host to a top-five team as it battles fifth-ranked Anderson (8-1-4, 5-1-2 SAC) for Senior Day on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
Maxime Wester’s first goal of the 2025 season could not have come at a better time. The junior scored his third career goal in the 58th minute and the Carson-Newman (2-8-3, 2-5-1 SAC) defense held Wingate (2-7-3, 2-3-3 SAC) scoreless in the second half to collect its second road win of the season on Saturday afternoon at Pride Park.
Carson-Newman (1-8-3, 1-5-1 SAC) gears up for its final road game of the regular season as it heads to Wingate (2-6-3, 2-2-3 SAC) Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
Carson-Newman (1-7-3, 1-4-1 SAC) plays its penultimate road game of the 2025 regular season when it visits Lincoln Memorial (4-7-1, 4-2-1 SAC) tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m.
Entering Friday night’s action, no team in the South Atlantic Conference had tied more games in league play than Mars Hill. Carson-Newman (1-6-3, 1-3-1 SAC) helped add to that ledger, seeing Mars Hill (3-2-6, 1-1-4 SAC) score an equalizing goal with 11 seconds left in the first half, which turned out to be the final goal of the match in a 1-1 tie at Meares Stadium.
In its final non-conference game of the season, Carson-Newman (0-5-2) played the final 70 minutes at a disadvantage and saw Montevallo (1-2-2) score three unanswered goals to drop a Monday afternoon affair at McCown Field.
Because of a weather delay with the women’s soccer game, Carson-Newman (0-4-2, 0-2 SAC) and Coker (1-0-3, 1-0 SAC) kicked off two hours after originally scheduled start time. The Cobras scored a late goal to sneak past C-N 1-0 on a late Saturday evening at Coker’s Athletic Field.
#25 Auburn Montomgery (3-1-1) scored a goal in each half to defeat Carson-Newman (0-3-2) 2-0 on Wednesday evening at AUM’s Soccer Complex.
Carson-Newman (0-2-2, 0-1 SAC) was unable to overcome two early goals from Catawba (3-1, 1-0 SAC), falling in its home and South Atlantic Conference opener Saturday night 2-1 at McCown Field.
Carson-Newman (0-1-2) and West Alabama (0-2-1) both scored first-half goals, but neither side could find a second half game-winner in a 1-1 tie on Wednesday afternoon at the Jerry F. Smith Track and Field Complex.
Carson-Newman (0-1-1) and Alabama Huntsville (1-0-1) scored second half goals less than eight minutes apart, but neither was able to find a game-winner and the two sides played to a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon at Charger Park.
Trevecca Nazarene’s (1-0) Chris Douglas scored twice in 22 minutes to lift the Trojans over Carson-Newman (0-1) on Thursday evening in Nashville.
