2023: Jones returned from an early season injury to rejoin the Carson-Newman offensive line against Erskine (Oct. 14).  Carson-Newman's offensive line only gave up 17 sacks on the season, the second-fewest allowed in the South Atlantic Conference.   Teams only registered two sacks against Carson-Newman in the final three weeks of the year. Jones has earned All-league laurels for two straight seasons. 

HONORS

  • All-Mountain Division OL

2022: A force to be reckoned with on Carson-Newman's offensive line, Jones tallied 49 knockdowns across Carson-Newman's 11 games, the most in a single season for an Eagle offensive line man to All-American Phil McDowell's 44-knockdown season in 2019. Jones graded out with a 85.91 percent average for the season.  Jones high water mark for grade came against Limestone with a 90.  He had a pair of eight-knockdown games against the Saints, as well as an eight-KD game against Lenoir-Rhyne.  The Valdosta, Ga.-native helped clear the way for four Eagles to rush for more than 400 yards and two to earn All-SAC honors. Additionally, Carson-Newman ranked second in the SAC in fewest tackles for loss allowed and only gave up 1.5 sacks per game on the season. 

HONORS:

2021: Did not appear in any games. 

2020: Did not appear in Carson-Newman's lone spring game against UVA Wise. 

2019: Made the change in the middle of the season from reserve offensive lineman to a starting d-lineman due to injuries.  Appeared in all 12 games, the first five on the offensive line and the final seven as a defensive lineman with starts at Lenoir-Rhyne, Limestone and Tusculum.  He finished the year with 16 tackles, including a career high five at Limestone.  

HIGH SCHOOL: Jones helped Adam Rodemaker and Valdosta High School to a state championship in 2016.  He played in 24 games as a junior and senior, earning the Wildcats Best Lineman Award his final year with the program. 

PERSONAL: The son of Terri Carter and Robert Williams, plans to study the sciences at Carson-Newman.
