Bio

2020: Carson-Newman's leading rusher from the Eagles' spring game against UVA Wise. McCowan carried the ball 11 times for 62 yards. He ran in a 26-yard score, also his long rush of the day.  He averaged a team-best 5.6 yards per carry.  

2019: McCowan appeared in 11 games for Carson-Newman. The junior had six carries for 17 yards on the year. Five carries and 10 yards came on opening night against West Florida (9/5). 

2018: McCowan appeared in eight games with three starts at running back for the Eagles. He rushed 32 times for 154 yards, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. McCowan's long rush of the year was a 35 yarder against Virginia-Lynchburg.  He piled up 106 yards rushing against the Dragons to set a new career mark.  

2017: Appeared in seven games for the Eagles. Carried the ball five times for 13 yards as a reserve running back. 

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-sport athlete at Dalton, he averaged 20 points per game on the baseketball court and 5.5 yards per carry on the gridiron.  He was a first team All-Area selection for both football and basketball. 

PERSONAL: The son of Isaac McCowan.  He plans to study exercise science at Carson-Newman.
