GREENWOOD, Ind. – Carson-Newman's football program had six student-athletes recognized for their efforts on the field and in the classroom as members of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
This marks a third consecutive year where C-N has had at least six players recognized.
Carson-Newman's six representatives are linebacker Isaac Bohleber, long snapper Andrew Bradshaw, running back Cam Ferguson, wide receiver Cade Meeks, tight end Kade Parker and wide receiver Zach Williams.
Bradshaw earns the recognition for a third consecutive season. Meeks and Williams are now two-time honorees.
Isaac Bohleber
Bohleber appeared in all 12 games with one start for C-N at linebacker. He registered three tackles on the year, primarily on special teams.
Andrew Bradshaw
Bradshaw adds All-District honors to his resume after being named the SAC's Scholar Athlete of the Year for football.
Bradshaw is the first Eagle to win the award since William Alderman (2014) and the fourth overall. He joins elite company of Alderman, Joey King (2004) and Charlie Walker (2000).
Bradshaw received postseason honors from the league office for his play at longsnapper at the end of his freshman, sophomore and senior seasons. He finished his career with All-Mountain Division honors.
Carson-Newman didn't have any punts blocked this season thanks to Bradshaw's longsnapping prowess.
In 41 career games, Bradshaw has only seen two punts or kicks blocked and those attempts were both 50-plus, line-drive field goals that ricocheted off the line seeking extra distance.
Bradshaw was also awarded with the South Atlantic Conference's Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 Award.
Cam Ferguson
Ferguson started all 12 games at slot back for C-N. He rushed for 394 yards and three touchdowns while catching six passes for 117 yards and two scores. Ferguson also returned eight kicks for 247 yards. He averaged 30.9 yards per kick return and had a 92-yard KOR for a touchdown at West Virginia State.
Cade Meeks
Meeks appeared in 11 games, with eight starts at wide receiver for C-N. He was the Eagles' second-leading receiver, catching 16 passes for 266 yards and three scores. Meeks also had a 15-yard rushing touchdown at Tusculum on a reverse.
Kade Parker
Parker appeared in all 12 games as a tight end for C-N. He started in C-N's win over UVA Wise.
Zach Williams
Williams repeats as an Academic All-District selection after earning the honor as a linebacker last year. Williams caught two passes on the year, including a 52-yard touchdown in the Eagles' opener against Reinhardt.
