Bio
2025: Saunders produced in her first season with C-N, starting in 24 of the 34 games she played, splitting primarily between the outfield and second base. She hit .337 on the year with 29 hits, 4 doubles and drove in 18 runs. She worked a .406 on-base percentage and scored 22 runs. The Radford, Virginia native collected her first career hit and RBI with one swing against Lees-McRae (Feb. 8), an RBI single in the bottom of the 5th to force a mercy rule in a 9-1 win for the Eagles. She finished the year with hits in 9 of her last 10, including an eight-game hitting streak from Apr. 5-26. Saunders set a career-high with three hits against Catawba (Apr. 1) and 4 runs batted in at Lenior-Rhyne (Apr. 18). In her freshman year, she closed with seven multi-hit and four multi-RBI games.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-sport athlete with the Bobcats... Hit .527 in her career with an on-base percentage of .628... Earned All-District and All-Region honors in 2021-2023, being named a 1st-team All-District and All-Region shortstop in 2023... Academically, Saunders was a member of the National Honor Society.

Earlier in the afternoon, C-N staved off elimination with a 5-3 win over Anderson, the first NCAA Tournament win since 2019.

An obstruction call gift-wrapped the Railsplitters a win in game one, 2-1, which sparked debate from head Michael Graves, before the Eagles responded with a dominant 12-2 run-rule victory in the second game.
