Bio

2023: After tallying five career at-bats in her first three seasons on the banks of Mossy Creek, Carmen Holt wraps up her C-N career as a two-time All-SAC honoree.  She earned third team honors as a designated player last season, but takes home second team honors at second base this year.  Holt has hit a career-best .350 this season.  The speedy native of the Bluegrass State has four doubles and a team-best four triples this season.  In her 200th career at-bat at UVA Wise on March 18, she drilled her first career home run.  The senior reached base in a career-best 20 straight games from Feb. 22 to March 29.  Defensively, she has been a black hole at second.  Holt has made one error playing the position.  Her .991 fielding percentage is the highest single-season total of any non-catcher/first baseman in school history with more than 100 total chances.

2022: After appearing in just 10 games in her first three seasons at C-N, Holt  cemented herself as an all-conference designated player.  The senior hit .294 this year with seven doubles and a triple while driving in 27 runs. She had 12 multi-hit games this season, including her first three-hit day against UVA Wise (March 22) – a day in which she also drove in four runs for the first time in her career.

2021: Holt appeared in six games as a pinch hitter for the Eagles. She was 2-for-4 at the plate with five runs scored.  She tallied a double and drove in four runs on the year.  Holt had a pair of multi-RBI efforts against Bluefield State (3/21).  

2020: Appeared in two games on the year for Carson-Newman.  Scored three runs as a pinch-runner.  

2019: Appeared in two games with one start at third against Catawba (3/23).  Holt was 0-for-1 at the plate on the year.  She made two putouts at the hot corner.  

HIGH SCHOOL: Holt hit .360 her senior year playing for Brent Aldridge and Jeff Hawkins at Anderson County.  She also had a trio of homers and 26 RBI her final go around with the Bearcats. She earned  all-district, all-state and academic all-state as a junior and senior.  On three occasions, she helped take the Bearcats to the Kentucky State tournament.  

PERSONAL: The daughter of Matt and Robyn Holt, she plans to study biology at Carson-Newman.  She was presented the Hollie Warford Jr. award in high school,, which goes to the top female athlete who exhibits excellence in athletics and academics.  She finished her high school career with  a 4.25 GPA.
