2013-2014: Set several initial school records: 50 free (20.46), 50 back (23.67) and 100 back (51.49). Young was also a member of several relay teams that set records: 200 and 400 free, 200 and 400 IM. Won the 50 free at the Lenior-Rhyne/Catawba tri-meet. Winning member of the: 200 free relay at the West Florida Holiday Invitational, 400 free relay at the Lenior-Rhyne/Catawba tri-meet. Young's 50 free time (20.46) placed him 20th in the nation in that event.
Swimming: Named team MVP and co-captain of the swim team…Was an eight-time qualifier for state…Swam at Indian River State College and became a three-time All-American and NJCAA national champion
Soccer: A former Carson-Newman soccer player who left the program in anticipation of being able to swim for the Eagles. Three-time All-Conference performer at Morristown West High School in Morristown, Tenn. …Helped lead the Trojans to four conference championships
