2021: Carson-Newman and the South Atlantic Conference's leading tackler for 2021.  Houston made 98 stops on the year with 5.5 behind the line of scrimmage.  Houston had six double-digit tackle efforts on the year against West Georgia, UVA Wise, Catawba, Lenoir-Rhyne, Newberry and Mars Hill.  He had a career-high 15 stops against UVA Wise and a career-high 10 solo tackles against Catawba.  He also made multiple stops behind the line of scrimmage against the Indians.  

2020: Did not appear in the UVA Wise game during Carson-Newman's spring season. 

2019: A reliable member of Carson-Newman's linebacking corps, Houston appeard in 11 games with a trio of starts.  He made 43 tackles with a half tackle for loss and a pair of quarterback hurries.  Houston reset his career high with a 10-tackle performance at Wingate (9/21).  He also notched a seven-tackle day against UNC Pembroke (10/5).  

2018: Exploded onto the scene in his first start against Wingate (9/15) by earning both SAC and TSWA Defensive Player of the Week honors against the Bulldogs.  He is Carson-Newman's first defensive player of the week from the league office since defensive back Jason Williams earned the honor following the Eagles' penultimate regular season game in 2015.  Williams had five tackles and a pick six against North Greenville that week.  Houston led Carson-Newman's defense with nine tackles, two tackles and a pick. He was an instrumental part of a unit that held Wingate to an eight-possession series where the Bulldogs picked up six three-and-outs and were intercepted (once by Houston) twice. The Eagles limited the Bulldogs to just 66 yards rushing, less than half their season average.  They also held the SAC's second-leading rusher Dom McNeil to 79 yards on 20 carries. He entered the game averaging 119 yards on the ground.  He also turned in a six-tackle day against Lenoir-Rhyne (11/3).  Houston finished the year with 32 tackles.

HIGH SCHOOL: Houston joins former Palmetto High School star and current All-SAC defensive lineman Brian Bembry on the Eagles’ roster.  He racked up 358 tackles, 98 stops behind the line of scrimmage and 16 sacks in three seasons playing for Dave Marino.  He led the team in tackles two of his final three seasons.  He also picked off four passes.  He was his area’s defensive player of the year. 

PERSONAL: The son of Alphonso Houston, he plans to study computer science at Carson-Newman.  He has two notable cousins, one Heisman Trophy winner and former Nebraska All-American Tommy Frazier; and two, former Florida State legend, All-American Peter Warrick, the fourth overall pick to the Cincinnati Bengals in 2000.  Houston made Palmetto’s honor roll.
