2019: Williams earns all-region honors for the second time in his career.  He had 65 tackles and 7.5 for loss on the year.  The 7.5 tackles for loss are a school record by a defensive back.  He had back-to-back double-digit tackle efforts in weeks two and three against Wingate and UVA-Wise.  He followed a then-career best 12 stop day against the Bulldogs with a 13-tackle day against the Highland Cavaliers.  He had a 76-yard interception return, one of two picks on the year, against UVa-Wise.

2018: Williams ran his consecutive starts streak to 22 straight games, getting the nod in all 11 games of his junior year. He ranked third on the team in tackles with 55, including three for loss.  He returned his lone pick of the year 56 yards in front of a national audience on ESPN 3 against Wingate. Williams also broke up four passes.  Williams tallied a career-best 13 tackles in week two at Virginia Union (9/8).  He tallied the most tackles by a defensive back since Jerry Miclisse in 2015.  He also had a double-digit tackle effort against Mars Hill with 11 stops.  He had two break ups in the finale against UNC Pembroke.  

2017: Williams became Carson-Newman's 122nd All-American, earning a spot on the Don Hansen Football Gazette listings.  The sophomore gives Carson-Newman back-to-back All-Americans at safety after Jerry Miclisse was recognized last year.  Carson-Newman hadn't had All-American safeties since 1996-99 when Montrea Ford and Jon Jon Simmons were presented laurels in four straight seasons.  The St. Petersburg, Fla.-native gives Carson-Newman an All-American selection in 39 of the last 40 years. 

Darius Williams led the South Atlantic Conference in interceptions with five in his sophomore season and helped Carson-Newman finish the year with the most picks in the South Atlantic Conference with 14. Williams tallied a pick in three straight games from Sept. 23 against Newberry to Oct. 7 against Limestone. His top effort though came against Tusculum when he snared an INT and returned it 58 yards to the house for the Eagles' lone defensive touchdown of the season.  Williams five interceptions are the most for Carson-Newman since All-American Eien Jacob snared that many in 2013.  He was 19th nationally in interceptions.  Williams also finished the year with 48 tackles, the fourth most on Carson-Newman's team.  He and the rest of the Eagles' secondary limited every receiver they faced under their season averages, with the exception of Mars Hill's Keshaun Taylor and Craig Rucker.  He started all 11 games for the Eagles and made a career-high seven tackles against Newberry.

2016: Williams saw action in nine games for the Eagles as a freshman and earned one start at safety.  He made 11 tackles with one tackle for loss, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown.  He made a career high four tackles against Mars Hill (9/24), recovered a fumble against Brevard (10/8) and brought a blocked punt back for a touchdown against Saint Augustine's (9/10). 

HIGH SCHOOL: Darius Williams is a safety from Northside Christian School is St. Petersburg, Fla. With the Mustangs, Williams played on the varsity team for two seasons and recorded 112 tackles. He was named a Blue-Grey All-American, Pinellas County All-Star and the leading defensive back tackler during 2014 and 2015. His high school coach was former Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro fullback Mike Alstott.

PERSONAL: Williams is the son of Albert and Sharon Williams and will major in Computer Sciences at C-N. Williams was recruited by Wake Forest, Missouri, Colgate and Stetson.
