Emmanuel Orange

Bio

2014: Spent a portion of the season hurt, but still started six games while appearing in seven.  He finished the year with 21 tackes.  Nearly half of which came in one game against Lenoir-Rhyne (11/1) when he made five solo stops to combine with five assisted tackles. He picked off his only pass of the season against Tusculum. 

2013: Appeared in nine games with one start against Lenoir-Rhyne (11/2) in the regular season.  Finished the year with 22 tackles, three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.  Made a career high eight stops in his lone start at L-R.  He had seven solo stops in that contest.  Had a season best two tackles for loss in that game as well.  Recovered his lone fumble against Tusculum (10/19).  

2012 (Georgia Southern): Redshirted

High School:   Orange starred at Naples High School, graduating in 2011.   The Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) recognized Orange as the top-ranked cornerback in Southwest Florida and lauded him an All-District 16 pick on defense.  Orange helped to lead Naples to a 13-1 record in 2010 and top-25 ranking in the state. He totaled 33 tackles as a senior and returned one of his three interceptions in 2010 for 95 yards for a touchdown. He was selected as the player with the "hit of the week" for three games in 2010.  In his senior campaign, he scored four defensive touchdowns and had an interception in the "Coconut Bowl" in the win over rival Lel.  His junior season he blocked four punts.  Has always been an Eagle, first for the Naples Golden Eagles, then the Georgia Southern Eagles and now the Carson-Newman Eagles.  Played for head coach Bill Kramer at Naples.

Personal: He was selected by high school principal Nancy Graham as Student of the Month and was a member of the 2010 homecoming court.  Orange was born in Haiti to Wilbert and Genevieve Orange.  He has two siblings Jules and Nathalie.  His cousin LJ Motinar plays at football at WVU.  Cousin Gelo Orange plays football for Wake Forest.  Orange has already enrolled at Carson-Newman and is eligible to practice with the team in the spring. He is majoring in marketing.
