Bio

2024-25: A two-year player for C-N, Dia has appeared in 57 games in the Orange and Blue with 29 career starts. An infectious presence in the paint, he scored 10 points in his first career game for C-N against Lees-McRae. A potent-passing big man, he has four career five-assist games.

2023-24: Dia started all 29 games in which he appeared for Carson-Newman.  He averaged 2.4 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 54.9 percent from the field and 68.2 percent from the free throw line.  Dia had one double-digit scoring effort on the year when he plopped 10 on Lees-McRae (Nov. 11) on opening night on four-of-four shooting.  He had a 10-rebound day at UVA Wise (Feb. 21). 

PRIOR TO CARSON-NEWMAN: Dia averaged six points and six boards per game while at Casper College. He led his team with 1.7 blocks per game. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Dia was a standout player at Khachioji Japan High School, excelling in basketball. He was recognized as the best player in Tokyo, Japan in 2020 and was named the MVP of the Winter Cup Tokyo in the same year. Dia's team, Sijinsen, also won the Winter Cup Tokyo and the Inter High Tokyo championships in 2019 and 2020. He played his high school ball in Japan while his older brother was playing professionally in the country.  He averaged a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards per game.

PERSONAL: Dia played baseball, soccer, and basketball competitively in high school.
