Bio

2022-23: Browder made an instant impact as a freshman for Carson-Newman. The Dobyns-Bennett product appeared in 25 games with a start on the road against Lincoln Memorial (Jan. 7).  The freshman averaged 6.8 points per game while knocking down 46.2 percent of his shots and 33.9 percent of his threes.  He was 69.8 percent from the line.  Browder averaged 3.1 boards per game.  He finished the year with six double-digit scoring efforts and seven games where he had at least five boards.  His top contest came in the penultimate game of the regular season against Emory & Henry (Feb. 22). Browder eviscerated the Wasps to the tune of 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc.  He also canned all five of his free throws.  Browder notched his career highs for points, threes made and field goals made against the Wasps.  Browder had a trio of games with at least eight boards.  He tallied a career-best nine against Lincoln Memorial (Feb. 1), coming up just short of a double-double with 19 points.  He had eight rebounds against both Lander (Dec. 31) and at Catawba (Feb. 4).  He led C-N in scoring and rebounding on four occassions.  He topped C-N in steals seven times, including a career-best four against Johnson (Nov. 28) and at Catawba (Feb. 4).

HIGH SCHOOL: Browder helped Dobyns-Bennett to a 4A state championship in 2022 as well as section, region and conference championships that year. The Indians were repeat champions at the section, region and conference level.  Along the way, Browder earned 4A State MVP honors as well as being named to the all-state tournament team.  His senior year he was named Big 5 Player of the Year, first team all-region, first team all-conference and first team all-northeast Tennessee.  He also earned all-conference honors as a junior in addition to being named the region player of the year.  He scored 1,196 points in his high school basketball career while averaging 15 points, 9.1 rebounds on 42 percent shooting.

PERSONAL: The son of Alice and Marty Browder, his older brother Charlie plays football for the University of Tennessee.  In high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club.
