2020 (Junior): Once again one of the top hitters in the country in a CoVid-19 shortened 2020 season, Thompson ranked fifth in the country in hits racking up 39 leading the team with 11 multi-hit efforts and pacing the crew with five multi-RBI outings. The outfielder produced 60 total bases in the shortened season to rank 20th in the country. Over 25 games, he posted a slash line of .379/.422/.583 with four homers, 20 RBIs, five doubles, two triples, four stolen bases and 25 runs scored. In a three-game series against No. 1 Tampa, he notched a multi-hit effort in each of the three games going 8-for-13 with two homers, three RBIs and five runs scored. That series sparked a hot close to the year where is had 10 multi-hit effort over the final 16 outings of the year going 32-for-68, .471, at the dish. In nine conference games, the junior hit .417 posting the third-most hits in the league with 15, five of which went for extra bases. He has started 114 of the 118 games he has played in his career posting a .374 batting average with 15 homers and 79 runs batted in. He became the fourth C-N baseball player to earn CoSIDA Academic All-American honors producing a 3.53 GPA in biology.

2019 (Sophomore): The Gallatin, Tenn. native is the first Eagle to earn a spot on top team regionally since left-hander Vince Apicella pulled in the hardware in 2016. Thompson was the first C-N outfielder to be on the top team in the SAC since Jeff Lockwood in 2010 becoming the 25th outfielder to earn a year-end plaudit. The sophomore led the team with 25 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI affairs. The Gallatin, Tenn. native is the conference's batting champion by nearly 20 points hitting .438, a number that was good for fourth in the nation, on the season while pacing the SAC in on-base percentage with a .528, eighth in Division II, and slugging percentage by over 50 points finishing the year with a .756, 13th in D2, tally. His batting average set the program's NCAA record for a single season passing Stiles's mark of .414 from 1999 to become the sixth Eagle in the Division II era to hit over .400. He started the year 1-for-5 in the opener before rattling off five straight hits. On the year, his batting average did not dip below .422 since the opener with that mark coming in the middle game of the Lincoln Memorial series on March 10. He followed that with three multi-hit games in-a-row. Thompson is the fourth SAC player since 2012 to hit above .430 in a season and first since Wingate's Shane Billings hit .444 in 2016. The two-time SAC Player of the Week won the first and last honor of the season going 8-for-13 against Limestone with a homer and a couple steals. He was given the award after the final day of the regular season by the league going 7-for-18 over the past week with two bombs, seven RBIs and eight runs scored. Since the conference began naming weekly honors in 2007 Thompson is the first C-N hitter to earn the plaudit twice in the same year. Several pitchers have achieved that feat most recently done by Apicella in 2016.

2018 (Freshman): Started 45 games as a rookie with a .301 batting average, two homers, 16 RBIs and 11 steals… Had 13 multi-hit games and a pair of multi-RBI efforts… Tallied seven-game hitting streak from March 4-25, 2018 (14-25, HR, 3 RBIs, 4 2Bs, 8 Runs)… Launched first-career homer to center field in 3rd inning v. Lee on Feb. 20, 2018 (2-run shot)… Went 2-for-2 with two walks against Limestone on Feb. 3, 2018 - his first career knocks… Went 3-for-4 with an RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored against Anderson on March 17.
