2023: Indoor - During the Bast-Cregger Invitational, Salyer finished sixth in the weight throw with a 12.33-meter mark. At the Sewanee Indoor Invitational, he placed fourth in the event (14.04 m). Salyer grabbed a new personal best in the weight throw at the 2023 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships to place 14th (14.08 m). 

Outdoor - Sayler grabbed a sixth-place finish in the discus throw during the Trojan Opener, and he finished fourth in the event at the Lee University Invitational (39.96 m). Salyer had eight top-10 performances during the ourdoor season. He finished sixth in the discus throw at the 2023 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a 41.57-meter mark. 

2022: Indoor - Salyer began the year at the ETSU Track and Field Invitational where he placed 12th in the weight throw event with a 12.09-meter mark and 13th in the shot put with a 10.84-meter mark. At the Tiger Paw Classic, he placed 10th in the weight throw with a 13.04-meter performance. He finished 12th in the weight throw at the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships (13.84 m). 

Outdoor - During the Lee Invitational, Salyer scored a personal best in the javelin throw (50.81 m) for a fifth-place finish. He grabbed another personal-best performance at the Montreat College Invitational with a 41.93-meter mark in the hammer throw for a ninth-place finish. Salyer placed eighth in the shot put at the Electric City Invitational, another personal best (13.28 m). At the 2022 SAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Salyer placed eighth in the discus throw with another personal best 42.25-meter performance. 

High School: Ranked #88 in the nation for the hammer throw with a personal best toss of 129’ 2.5” (39.38 meters). Was a three-time all-state indoor thrower in high school. Helped lead Hardin Valley Academy to Indoor state championship in 2020. Also played football for the Hawks, starting three years in a row and playing six different positions.

Personal: Son of Martha Salyer and former Carson-Newman All-American kicker Nathan Salyer. Member of the National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Math Society. Recorded a 30 on the ACT. Chose Carson-Newman over Winthrop, Catawba, Tusculum, Mars Hill and Anderson. Intends to major in Exercise science.
