Raymond Brugmans

Bio

2023: Indoor - Brugmans placed first in the DMR at the VMI Invitational in 10:27.92. He grabbed first in the mile in 4:26.67 at the Finn Pincus Invitational and won gold in the 800 in 1:56.69 at the JDL College Team Challenge. At the SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Brugmans took third in the DMR in 10:27.23. 

Outdoor - New personal record in the 3000 steeplechase in 10:08.51 at the Electric City Invitational for a fifth-place finish. He placed ninth in the event in 10:12.17 at the SAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 

2022: Indoor - New personal best and fifth-place finish in the mile at the Tiger Paw Classic in 4:26.36. Placed third in the 800 at the meet in 1:57.50. Brugmans finished eighth in the distance medley relay at the SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in 10:53.00 and contributed to a seventh-place 4x400 relay finish (3:28.70). 

Outdoor - Brugmans contributed to a third-place 4x400 relay finish at both the Lee Invitational (3:32.62) and Montreat College Invitational (3:29.50). Personal best at the WKU Hilltopper relays in 15:43.37 to place 13th. Grabbed another personal best in the 1500 at the Electric City Invitational in 3:59.23. 

2021: Indoor - Finished in the top-15 at every event in the 2021 season. Earned first place in the Mile at the Run As Fast As You Can Meet at ETSU with a time of 4:35.57. Earned 12th place finish in the 400 Meter run at the Buccaneer Invitational with a time of 52.19 seconds. Season-high fourth place finish in the 800 meter run at the Buccaneer Invitational with a time of 1:58.53. Also a member of the men's 4x400 meter relay team.

Finished 13th in the 1500 Meter run at the Montreat Invitational with a time of 4:09.47. Season-high fourth place finish in the 800 Meter run at the LR Bears Open with a time of 1:58.45.

PRIOR TO CARSON-NEWMAN: Attended Fontys Hogescholen Mens en Gezondheid. Ran the 400 meter, 800 meter, 1500 meter and cross country in the Netherlands. Place seventh in the Dutch National Championship in the 800 meter. Trained by Rikkert Van Rhee, former Dutch national champion.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended DevelsteinCollege in Zwijndrecht, Netherlands.

PERSONAL: Son of Hans Brugmans. Intends to major in Nursing.
