What to wear: 

Cheer - shorts, tank or tight fitting T-shirt, socks & shoes

What: Cheerleading opportunity for 3-6 grade girls.

Where:  Carson Newman University

Sign-Up/Meeting:  May 2020 Date/Time TBA, @ C-N MSAC (downstairs gym area) Varsity Rep will be at meeting for sizing. 

The Carson-Newman University Cheer Program would like to announce a cheer opportunity for girls, who will be in 3-6 grades during the upcoming school year.  The C-N cheer coach, Christy Bowlin, and members of C-N Cheer Team will teach a “Cheer 101” class for all participants each Thursday afternoon August – October.  Class time will be from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.  All participants will cheer three to four Home C-N Football games (1st half only).  They will also have pre-game performance(s), participate in Homecoming Parade and Game Day Pep Rallies!  All participants along with 1 adult will be admitted to the game free.  Additional tickets can be purchased through Coach Christy Bowlin or Doodle Johnson.


C-N Junior Eagle Cheer Package $150-250

Cheer Package (Uniform, shoes, poms, bow, t-shirt)

Cheer “101” Class $40 per month ($120 total)


 Junior Eagle Participants must attend ALL Cheer 101 Classes and Game Day performances. Cheer is a Team Sport – When one is not there it effects the whole team.  Each participant must have the Cheer Uniform Package.  Uniform with correct shoes, socks and bow must be worn to all games/parades/pep rallies.  T-shirt and navy blue soffe shorts must be worn to all Thursday practices.  Hair must always be in a ponytail and NO jewelry at any practice or game. Jr. Eagles must arrive at designated time/location for each game/practice – if late/miss the coach may have to remove them from performance.  Her decision will be final. All Practices are closed.  No friends, parents or relatives are allowed in practice room. C-N CHEER/DANCE CLINIC  -  Feb. 1, 2020.

Location MSAC  (downstairs gym area)  TIME – 9 AM - 12 PM

Clinic is open to high school junior and senior cheerleaders and dance team members.  Clinic will cover “What it takes to be a C-N Cheerleader/Dancer”  Stunts, tumbling, C-N Fight Song and Chant(s).  All participants will receive free admission to C-N Basketball game Saturday at 2pm.   

Clinic Cost  $25  (Make checks payable to C-N Cheerleading).

All participants should wear exercise shorts, tight fitting t-shirt or tank, tennis shoes and socks/dance attire.  Make sure to  bring signed wavier, Clinic fee and water bottle.

WHAT is Talon’s Tumblers?  An Acrobatic/Gymnastic Class for 3rd graders — high school

WHERE do we meet? Carson-Newman University—MSAC—Downstairs 3-gym area

WHEN will the classes meet?  Thursdays, 4 to 5 pm / First Class August 12th There will be (2) three month terms: Aug 12th—Nov 18th and Jan 16th—Apr 27th

WHO is teaching the class? Coach Bowlin and Members of C-N Cheerleading Team

WHAT is the cost? $150 per term
