Lady Eagles Advance Past Lincoln Memorial in SAC Tournament, 6-1

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn - The Carson-Newman women's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament with a 6-1 win over No. 7 seed Lincoln Memorial Tuesday afternoon.

The second-seeded Lady Eagles took two of the three doubles matches and then closed out the victory in singles play.

Kyle Elliott (Maryville, Tenn.) and Cassie Moulton (Maryville, Tenn.) picked up the third and fourth points, respectively, to give Carson-Newman a 4-1 lead. Emily Sorah (Bristol, Tenn.) and Taryn Cappadona (Kennesaw, Ga.) finished with victories simultaneously to close out the win.

The Lady Eagles will continue tournament play on Friday, April 24 at 1 p.m. in Rock Hill, South Carolina. C-N will face the winner of Tuesday's No. 6 Catawba/No. 3 Wingate match.
