Lady Eagles Down Catawba, 7-2

SALISBURY, NC -- Carson-Newman picked up a 7-2 win over host Catawba in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis action on Friday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center.
The Lady Eagles swept the doubles matches en route to improving to 10-2 overall and 7-1 in the SAC. Catawba falls to 9-9 and 1-5 in conference play.
C-N's Amanda Bartlett (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Taryn Cappadona (Kennesaw, Ga.) teamed up to defeat Kasia Zielinski (Erie, Pa.) and Jen Denyes (Bradenton, Fla.), 8-3, in No. 1 doubles action.
In the No. 2 doubles match, Cassie Moulton (Maryville, Tenn.) and Elizabeth Sneed (Kingsport, Tenn.) took down the Catawba duo of Steffi Cook (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Nikiah Knox (Stratham, N.H.), 8-4.
Kylie Elliott (Maryville, Tenn.) and Emily Sorah (Bristol, Tenn.) completed the sweep for C-N by defeating Candace Hall (Denver, N.C.) and Jennifer Dameron (Siler City, N.C.), 8-3, in No. 3 doubles.
Bartlett, Missy Sneed (Kingsport, Tenn.), Cappadona and Moulton all earned victories in their respective singles matches to lift the Lady Eagles to the win.
C-N will return to action on Tuesday in the first round of the SAC tournament.
