CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Carson-Newman freshman Melanie Manis (Louisville, Tenn.) has been named to the 2009-10 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for Division II.
Manis, a biology major, was a standout on the course and in the classroom for the Lady Eagles in 2009-10. She turned in two top 10 finishes, including a fourth place showing in the Elite Linen Service Inc. Invitational in just her second tournament of the season.
A student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and have competed in 66 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year to be selected to the NGCA All-American Scholar Team.
The NGCA was founded in 1983 and is a nonprofit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches.
