"We are excited about welcoming the community to the Carson-Newman campus for an exciting evening of basketball," Athletic Director David Barger said of the promotion.
The Lady Eagles are currently 14-5 overall on the season and fourth in the SAC with a 5-3 mark. They are coming off a controversial 77-75 overtime loss to Catawba, in which a leaky roof affected play down the stretch.
Newberry is currently third in the conference with a 6-2 record (13-6) overall. They defeated the Lady Eagles 69-61 when the two schools met in Newberry back in early January.
Local product Ashley Kyle (Jefferson County High School) has been the top offensive weapon for Carson-Newman this season, averaging 14.7 points per game.
In the men's contest, Carson-Newman will be trying to avenge the 89-73 loss it suffered at Newberry last month.
The Eagles are currently 6-12 overall and 3-4 in the SAC. Their game at Catawba Wednesday was postponed until February 9.
Newberry enters the contest tied for second in the conference with a 4-3 mark, and is 15-4 overall.
