C-N track competes in Appalachian Valentine Open

BOONE, N.C. - The Carson-Newman track and field team had a pair of top three finishers in the Appalachian Valentine Open Indoor Track Meet Thursday afternoon at the Holmes Center in Boone, N.C.
Team scores were not kept at the event.
Catelyn Dake (Knoxville, Tenn.) placed third in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:03.98 and was seventh in the 800-meter run (2:42).
Chris Patton (Johnson City, Tenn.) finished third in the 55-meter hurdles (7.97), while Charlita Russell ran 29.66 to grab fifth place in the 200-meter run.
Cara Hawkins (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) turned in a sixth place finish in the 800-meter run (2:38.41) and a seventh place showing in the 1000-meter run (3:33.37).
C-N will compete next in the Middle Tennessee Valentine Invitational on Saturday at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
