C-N signee named Region III Player of the Year

Carson-Newman signee MacKenzie Tyree has been named Virginia Region III player of the year after setting a VHSL career record with 1,474 digs.
A two-time Blue Ridge District player of the year. Tyree had 518 digs in 83 games this year as Botetourt finished 15-9 and reached the Region III semifinals.
A standout defensive player at libero, she 578 serve receptions with only 32 errors. Tyree served at a 93.3 percent clip with 59 aces in 345 attempts. She also had 57 kills on the year.
