Dye, Bailey land on SAC All-Tournament team
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman sluggers Hayden Dye (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Macauley Bailey (Cross Plains, Tenn.) have earned spots on the South Atlantic Conference Softball All-Tournament team, the league office announced Tuesday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman sluggers Hayden Dye (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Macauley Bailey (Cross Plains, Tenn.) have earned spots on the South Atlantic Conference Softball All-Tournament team, the league office announced Tuesday.
Dye and Bailey helped Carson-Newman to a trio of wins at the league tournament, coming up a game shy of the championship series.
These are the first all-tournament nods for both players.
Dye hit .529 for the tournament. She had nine hits in 17 at-bats and socked two home runs while driving in five. Dye is the only player at the event for Carson-Newman who had a hit in all five games.

She started the tournament with a three-hit day against Newberry. She tallied two-hit days twice against Wingate – once in a 4-2 loss and against in a 6-0 win to stave off elimination.
In addition to her two home runs, she also hit a double.
Meanwhile, Bailey hit .412 for the event with seven hits in 17 trips to the plate. Four of her seven knocks were for extra bases. She slugged three home runs and also tallied a double while driving in nine runs, six of which came in the opening game against Newberry.
Two of Bailey's blats came in the first game against Newberry, one of which was an eighth-inning grand slam that pushed C-N to an 11-5 win.

Both Bailey and Dye will be in action in the NCAA regionals starting Thursday at Wingate when the Eagles take on No. 25 Lenoir-Rhyne at 3:30 p.m.
