Eagles travel to South Carolina to play in the Lander University Lady Bearcat Invitational
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Neman’s women’s golf team will travel to South Carolina for a Saturday tee time at the Lander University Lady Bearcat Invitational.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Neman's women's golf team will travel to South Carolina for a Saturday tee time at the Lander University Lady Bearcat Invitational.
The Eagles will play for this first time at the Old South Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C.
Carson-Newman head coach Amanda Moore is looking forward to playing at Hilton Head and believes that once their team goes through the practice round they will be ready to play Saturday.
"We will use our practice round day to get familiar with the course and prepared," Moore said.
Carson-Newman last played in Sevierville, hosting the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate.
"I think that one tournament under our belt, we should be more comfortable with this tournament in Hilton Head," Moore said.
The Eagles will use the same team line up as their previous tournament which consists of junior Mary Tunnell (Cordova, Tenn.), junior Lauren Hodge (Jefferson City, Tenn.), sophomore Danielle Baiunco (Melbourne, Fla.), sophomore Chelsea Passmore (Knoxville, Tenn.) and freshman Meridith Hawkins (Powell, Tenn.).
"Meredith is a great player who led our team in our previous tournament," Moore said. "I expect Meredith will not only play well at this upcoming tournament, but for the rest of the year."
Freshman Amber Hardy (Thompson's Station, Tenn.) will be representing Carson-Newman as an individual player for the Lander University Lady Bearcat Invitational.
"I believe we will be ready for this invitational," Moore said, "Our team has been practicing a lot since our last tournament and I believe we have improved greatly," Moore said.
The Eagles will tee off Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at Old South Golf Links in Hilton Head.
