Coach Michael Potts begins his seventh season with the Lady Eagles basketball program.

Potts brings nearly 20 years of coaching success and experience to the table as demonstrated by his 376-182(.674) record as a head coach. He has a strong desire to develop young athletes as leaders both on and off the court and in and out of the classroom.

Potts successes include his Jefferson County High School team winning the Inter-Mountain conference championship seven times and being runner up five times. They were eight time District 2 AAA champions and four time Region 1 AAA champions. His teams were also known for their success off the court as they received the TSSAA Outstanding Academic Team Achievement Award for a team grade point average of a 3.5 or higher from 1992-2007. Coach Potts was named conference coach of the year seven times and North East Tennessee Coach of the Year in 2002.

Coach Potts responsibilities include assisting coach Mincey with on the floor coaching and the Eagles' guard play. Potts is a 1984 Carson Newman graduate. He, his wife Theresa, and their two children; Trey and Jenna are members of Manley Baptist Church and reside in Morristown.
