season Emily was named South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the
year and was eighth in the nation in blocked shots with 2.9 per

with 2.8 per outing. As a junior Emily continued her shot blocking
prowess with 2.6 per contest good enough for a fourteenth national
ranking. To finish out her career Emily was nineteenth in the
nation with 2.2 blocks per game. For Paffrath's career she scored
1,100 points, pulled down 742 rebounds, dished out 202 assists, and
blocked 327 shots and is currently ranked eighth on the NCAA all
time list for blocked shots.
Emily will work with the development of the post players and other
duties will include recruiting and video exchange. "Carson-Newman
College and our basketball program are very fortunate to have
someone of Emily's caliber on our staff. Her eagerness and work
ethic has allowed me to let her hit the ground running. She will
bring a new dimension to our post game with her experience and
knowledge," said Head Coach Dean Walsh of Paffrath.
Emily, a Bakersville, NC native, is an elementary education major
working towards her master's degree in education from Carson
Newman.
