Orange Shores Take Game 1 in Convincing Fashion, 9-1
Lucas Mohon had four RBI's and Chris Armstrong pitched five strong innings to lead the Shores to a 1-0 World Series lead
Lucas Mohon hit a double in the bottom of the 3rd to score Kyle Koeneman and Lance Rorex to give the Shores a 2-0 lead. Mohon would get another RBI in the 5th on a single to score Ryan Hanks. Chris Armstrong pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up only one earned run, and striking out three for the Shores.
The Blue Chips scored one run in the top of the 4th, on a Cody Fox infield out to drive in Bryan Everhart who had doubled to start the inning. Lucas Watson pitched five strong innings giving up only two earned runs.
The Blue Chips loaded the bases in the top of 6th, but with one out, Ryan Fillers got a ground ball double play to end the threat.
The Shores would score six runs in the bottom of the 6th after two outs were recorded. Mason Guymon had a single to left field to score Joe Tipton who singled to start the inning, to start the scoring. Zach Long would cap off the inning with two RBI's on a double.
