3-Run 7th Give Juice Game Two Victory
Jon Dalton's 2-out fly ball scored Zach Long and Kyle Koeneman to break a 2-2 tie in the top of the 7th to give the Juice a win Thursday. The Juice now have a 2-0 lead in the best of five series.
Orange Juice starting pitcher Ryan Fillers threw 6 solid innings to help the Juice to a game two victory over the Blue Bombers. Fillers allowed only 4 hits and struck out three to get the victory.
The Juice would strike first in the 3rd inning. Aaron Vargas would lead off the inning with a single, he would steal 2nd and third. After Zach Long walked, Kyle Koeneman would hit a RBI double down the left field line to score Vargas for the games first run.
Blue Bomber starter Lucas Watson, had an impressive outing. Watson went 6 2/3 innings allowing 5 hits and striking out 9 Juice batters. The only other run given up was a 2-out dropped fly ball in the 5th.
Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the 6th, the Bombers would strike back in an exciting way. Trace Rogers led off the inning with a single up the middle against Fillers. Evan Patterson, hitting with 2 strikes, hit a blast over the left field wall for a 2 run home run.
In the seventh, the Juice would answer back. With 2-outs, Zach Long hit a double down the left field line. After an intentional walk to Koeneman, Jon Dalton hit a fly ball to left field that fell to the ground, allowing 2 runs to score. Morgan Gregory would follow up Dalton with a RBI single and give the Juice a 5-2 lead.
