Hay Tied for Second, Eagles 13th After Day Two of Golfweek Spring Invitational

Scotland) fired a 2-under-par 70 in Monday’s second round to
move into a tie for second place in the Golfweek Spring
Invitational at the Reunion Resort Independence Course.
As a team, the Eagles are in 13th place with a score of 619 (+43).
C-N shot an opening-round 306 (+18) on Sunday and followed it up
with a 313 (+25) on Monday in the loaded field, which includes nine
top 25 teams.
Hay, who carded a 73 (+1) in the first round, made the turn at
even-par on Monday before tallying two birdies and seven pars on
the back nine to finish the day tied with Lander’s Roberto
Nasalli-Rocca. Hay and Nasalli-Rocca are three strokes back of
Lynn’s Steven Brame, who leads the event with a two-day total
of 140 (-4).
C-N sophomore Liam Ashby (Dublin, Ireland) is tied for 40th after
turning in a 5-over-par 77 on Monday to bring his two-round total
to 143 (+9).
Junior Adam Holt (Liverpool, England) is in a tie for 77th place
with a 161 (+17), while John Minor Jr. (Dandridge, Tenn.) has a
two-day total of 165 (+21). Holt and Minor Jr. carded rounds of 84
and 82, respectively, on Monday. Junior Chase Conn (Mason, Ohio)
shot a second-round 87 to bring his tournament total to 167
(+23).
Nova Southeastern has a two-stroke lead heading into the third
round after shooting a 292 (+4) on Monday to give it a two-day
total of 589 (+13).
The final round of the Golfweek Spring Invitational will be played
on Tuesday.
