Bio

2017-18: Holmes appeared in all 31 games for the Eagles, one of five players on the roster to do so, while starting 20 games.  The Eagles were 16-4 with him as a starter.  Holmes saw his production dip a smidge from his freshman campaign.  He tallied 4.2 points per game on 36 percent shooting, including a 34 percent mark from three. He averaged 2.9 boards per game. Holmes had five games where he scored in double figures, the Eagles were unbeaten when he did.  He set a new career high against Limestone (12-19) when he poured in 20 points on 5-of-10 shooting and a 4-of-8 mark from beyond the arc.  He had his first career double-double at Coker (1/27) with a 17-point, 11-rebound game.

2016-17: Holmes started 21 games and appeared in 29 during his season at Mossy Creek.  The guard averaged 5.5 points per game, the top scoring freshman on the Eagles' roster.  He also chipped in 3.1 rebounds per game.  Holmes connected on 38 percent of his shots and 40 percent of his threes. He knocked down 69 percent of his free throws.  Holmes best effort came early in his freshman season.  He scored 19 points in his second career game against Lander (11/12) on 7-for-9 shooting, also a career high.  He also knocked down five threes that game, a total unmatched from his freshman season.  Holmes had six games where he scored double digits, including three consecutive against Brevard, Coker and Anderson from January 11-18.  He led C-N in steals six times with a career high four gainst Newberry (12/3).  He narrowly missed out on a double-double that day with eight rebounds.

HIGH SCHOOL: Cameron Holmes comes to Carson-Newman from Nation Ford High School where he played for Michael Tew.  A three-point marksman, Holmes knocked down 142 triples at a 41 percent clip in his high school career.  In his senior season, he led the Falcons in scoring, assists, steals and blocks in his senior season.  He helped Nation Ford to the second round of the AAAA state playoffs, the furthest the school had ever made it in postseason play.  He was a two-time all-region and all-area selection.

PERSONAL: The son of Stafany and Dan Holmes.  He plans to study business management at Carson-Newman.  His biological father is Eric Moulds, who had a 12-year NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans.
